I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, and am trained in EFT, EMDR Parts I & II, Psycho-Kinesiology and Specialized Energy Kinesiology. I am currently finishing my Certification in Aromatherapy, Certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I have been interested in the healing arts from early childhood and started out my professional journey working in Germany as a physician assistant. My interest in the field of psychosomatic therapy, trauma, as well as loss, grief & bereavement were sparked by many personal experiences as well as my immigration to the US over 20 years ago.
At the end of my 30s, I went back to school and studied Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice where I received the honor of Valedictorian. My main focus was counseling and substance abuse treatment (CASAC-T). I continued to NYU where I received my Masters in Social Work. I am a LCSW in NJ and currently work in a group practice as a therapist. I broadened my knowledge and experience about Mental Health in a busy emergency room doing psychiatric assessments for 7 years. In addition, I have my own private practice where I see clients. Currently, clients are being seen only online due to the current pandemic.
Throughout the past 20 years, I have been working with Essential Oils and started making my own body products and gift bags for various occasions. I am the founder and owner of Lavenora. When seeing clients in person, essential oils are often used in sessions.
Furthermore, I have attended many lectures, workshops, and trainings about meditation, mindfulness, and how to use breath as a way of connecting to the body and the present moment.
This work has led me on a path of self-discovery and allows me to constantly grow and evolve personally as well as professionally. My hope is to help others heal themselves, and lead a more authentic and fulfilling life.
I am also an Ordained Minister with the Universal Life Church.
