We will briefly talk over the phone and a questionnaire will be emailed to you. The filled-out questionnaire is to be brought to your first session.
1st Session: Getting to know each other
During this session we will get to know each other. Hypnosis is based on trust and feeling entirely relaxed and at ease. Please be very straight forward and honest with me if there is any moment that you feel less than comfortable.
During this session, I will go over your needs and reasons for wanting hypnosis. Follow-up questions will be cleared up in regards to the questionnaire, and I will answer any questions you may have about hypnosis. Then, both of us, you and I, are going to work together on the suggestion or affirmation to be used during hypnosis.
In order to get the most out of your hypnosis session, please come prepared with any questions you may have. Also, if you have a favorite affirmation or prayer, you may want to bring it to this session, as this may be used in your hypnosis script.
Depending on how the session is going, we go straight into the Relaxation / Hypnosis (see 2nd Session). Otherwise, a second session is scheduled which is included in the overall session fee.
Length: Up to 90 minutes
2nd Session: Relaxation / Hypnosis
During hypnosis, you will feel very relaxed but not so much that you fall asleep. You will be sitting or lying down on a comfortable chair, sofa, or treatment table. Your hypnotherapist will talk you through a progressive relaxation, which brings you into the state of hypnosis. At that point, you will be given the suggestions / affirmations both you and your hypnotherapist worked on during the 1st session.
Length: Up to 45 minutes
Homework for you
After the session, you will receive either an audio recording or a word document with the suggestion that you heard during hypnosis. You will need to read or listen to this recording for 21 consecutive days in order for the suggestion or affirmations to work. If you do not have the possibility to listen to an audio recording, you may read the script which will be sent to you via email. You would have to read the script on a daily basis for 21 consecutive days.
It is said that it takes three weeks or 21 days to form a new habit. This may or may not be true for you but it is recommended that you follow this time frame. If you feel that you need more time, you can continue to listen to the recording or read through the script until you feel that you have achieved your desired goal.
